
The Kwinana Industrial Area is a significant source of economic wealth for the WA economy. Employing more than 4800 people on a full time basis and a further 2800 people on a part time basis, it is a major employer in the electorate. Kwinana industry is also responsible for the indirect employement of a further 26,000 people.
With industries ranging from fabrication and construction to alumina and oil refining, the area has been a major contributor to WA’s economy since the 1950s. Industry output is valued at $15.7 billion per annum.
